Order of Service

The Potters House holds 3 services a week; we believe a steady diet of worship, prayer, Biblical preaching and fellowship make for good disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Worship

When Satan tempted Jesus to bow down to him, Jesus repelled him by quoting from the Old Testimment, Matthew 4: 10 Then Jesus said to him, “Away with you, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.'”

True worship changes lives because it puts people in touch with their Father in heaven.

Jesus said in John 4:23-24 But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

Prayer

Prayer is our vital link with God and it is more than a ‘one way’ conversation, the source of all true spiritual strength and power comes through prayer.

Jesus, Matt 26:41 “Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

Preaching

Jesus said storms will come but those who hear and obey His word will be like houses with solid foundations (Matthew 7: 24-27)

Sorrows, difficulties, disappointments and bereavements come to all alike and God has never intended us to face life alone.

We know the truth through His Word

John 8:31-32 Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

Matt 4:4 But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.'”

Preaching is so important especially in the times we’re living in.

2 Tim 4:1-4 I solemnly urge you in the presence of God and Christ Jesus, who will someday judge the living and the dead when he appears to set up his Kingdom: Preach the word of God. Be prepared, whether the time is favorable or not. Patiently correct, rebuke, and encourage your people with good teaching. For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear. They will reject the truth and chase after myths.

Fellowship

Christianity is not a hobby or even a Sunday affair it is a radical lifestyle that often contrasts the attitudes and values of the world.

Jesus said, John 13:35 “Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.”

Radical love = radical commitment
